Character Building Workshop with David LeReaney

SYNOPSIS: Under the guidance of David LeReaney, this workshop is for actors and directors of all levels. We will be exploring the different methods, tools, and ideas that can be accessed when building a character for stage or screen. Participants are asked to bring a couple copies of a scene or a monologue from a play or a film role they have done in the past or are even currently working on. There will be time in the afternoon to address individual work.

INSTRUCTOR BIO: David LeReaney has been acting, directing, coaching dialects and teaching for a living since 1979, appearing in or directing over 250 professional plays, usually in such character roles as Billy in BILLY BISHOP GOES TO WAR, the Wizard in THE WIZARD OF OZ at ATP, The Modern Major General in Calgary Opera’s THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE and Voltaire/Pangloss in CANDIDE FOR THE OPEREA. He has a busy career in film and TV, appearing in more than 60 productions, most recently appearing in FARGO, BLACKSTONE, and FALLOUT ASYLUM.
