Stage Combat Workshop with Laryssa Yanchak

SYNOPSIS: A fight director works to safely create the illusion of violence. Under the guidance of Laryssa Yanchack, the aim of this class will be to arm the performers with tools, techniques and concepts that will give participants a foundation in how to create an action sequence that is both safe and entertaining.

INSTRUCTOR BIO: Specializing in Fight Direction and Instruction, Laryssa is certified as both Fight Director and Fight Instructor through Fight Directors Canada. She is recognised as a professional in her field by both the CAEA and ACTRA, and is Canada's first woman to receive a professionally recognised award for Fight Direction.

As a performer Laryssa specializes in clown and physical theatre performance, with training in circus aerial arts and cheerleading. Bwa ha ha ha - yes, she said cheerleading.
