Iam Coulter presents "Directed by Shakespeare"

In this workshop, participants will explore exercises designed to illuminate a deeper understanding of Shakespeare's dramatic poetry. Participants will learn about the structure of the verse, original punctuation, rhetorical patterns and how specific techniques can be used to more fully understand and embody Shakespeare's words.

This workshop is suited to actors, directors or teachers; offering great insight into how Shakespeare crafted arguably the most powerful and illuminating plays ever written.

*Iam Coulter is an actor, director, and teaching artist. From 2004 - 2011, she served as the artistic producer of The Shakespeare Company in Calgary, Alberta. Her appetite for deeper understanding and specialized training experience led her to Lenox, Massachusetts' Shakespeare & Company in 2012, where she trains with internationally renowned master teachers. Iam has continued her studies with those masters, absorbing all she can while developing her own personal teaching style. She is recently assisted faculty as a teacher trainee at the January 2018 Month Long Intensive, with a focus on Text and Clown. Iam has performed with Shakespeare & Company, Citadel Theatre, Theatre Calgary, Vertigo Mystery Theatre, Alberta Theatre Projects, Theatre Junction and The Shakespeare Company.
