Swashbuckling 101:
Whether it is in Romeo & Juliet, Treasure Island, or Three Musketeers there is no denying the excitement of the flash of steel and ting of blades found in a good sword fight. Join us for a day of exploring the fundamental skills of sword fighting for stage with Fight Directors Canada Fight Instructor John Knight. Students will be taught the stance, footwork, and targeting for sword which will give them the skills to portray the most competent of sword fighting characters!
WHEN: November 18, 2018
COST: $60 (registration online, by phone or email)
WHERE: Morpheus Rehearsal Centre (3512 5 Avenue NW) Refreshments will be served from 10:30 to 11:00 am so feel to come early and settle in.

Instructor Bio: John Knight is a Calgary based actor, director, fight director, and theatre educator. He has had the great pleasure to mentor and be mentored by hundreds of theatre artists from diverse backgrounds and skill sets. John is a graduate of the University of Lethbridge and a Certified Instructor with The Academy of Fight Directors Canada. Recent fight directing credits include: Much Ado About Nothing, Julius Caesar (The Shakespeare Company), Filumena (Calgary Opera), All In The Timing & Fifteen Minute Hamlet, A Streetcar Named Desire (Spirit Fire Theatre), and The Monument (Theatre of Consequence).
